I decided to begin a new blog. I'm at a local coffee shop in the historic district of my hometown and I'm feeling a sense of nostalgia because my birthday is coming up. I'm reflecting on the times I spent in this town as a teenager.
Right now, I've been at my new job for almost 3 months. It is very challenging, but mostly challenging in terms of adapting to the culture. I have had no experience with the culture I work with, and it is in general very different from other office cultures I have worked with. I'm also trying to finish up school, and desperately want to get that out of my life.
In terms of exciting things, I'm planning to get a dog and am looking forward to running with it. I'm also hoping to move into a house and rent it for a year. I am considering looking for a new job next summer, after this particular project that I will lead is finished. I don't think the culture is a good fit for me, but I don't know...perhaps it will get easier. I could end up with a good salary for the amount of hours that I work, so I'll have to consider it carefully.
